Life has a way of throwing curve balls that may feel insurmountable. Life's curve balls can affect you mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. My name is Dr. Faith C. L. Roby, and I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in Tennessee, Texas, and Kentucky with two Master's Degrees in Marriage & Family Therapy and Christian Apologetics, two Bachelor of Science Degrees in Christian Ministry and Psychology, and Doctor of Community Care and Counseling: Traumatology. I am passionate about ministering through the God-given gifts of healing,

I'm currently a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and seeing clients in Tennessee, Texas, & Kentucky! Texas and Kentucky clients are by telehealth only. I am also an LMFT approved Supervisor for the state of Texas! I am a certified SAP and conduct SAP assessments.
Premarital and Marital Therapy is generally not covered by insurance and are private pay only. I do not accept EAP or insurance (except for Aetna or UHC/Optum) for marital or premarital therapy, but will for individual therapy.
Texas clients using insurance, I bill services through a company called Headway & Alma.
Services: I am now accepting new and existing clients.
Current services include Marital, premarital, individual & family therapy which includes per request Christian integrative therapy, marital-based only sex therapy, infidelity recovery, trauma and PTSD therapy, emotion regulation (anxiety, anger, stress, grief, etc.), substance use recovery, assertiveness training, Cluster B & C personality disorder therapy, SAP Assessments, jury selection consultation services, and trial expert testimony (please see the FAQ's for more information).
Approaches: Bowen Family Systems, Biblical Christian-based, CBT, Modified DBT, Gottman Couples approach, Symbis, Prepare-Enrich, Brainspotting, Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Life Coaching.
Private Pay Rates: $80.00 - $200.00. Marital/couples therapy is private pay only, with the exception of Aetna and UHC/Optum. EAP nor insurance is accepted for Premarital, Couples, and/or Marital therapy.
SAP Assessment Program Rates: $575.00
Ministry/Church Contracts: For churches and ministries interested in developing a contract for your parishioners seeking therapy services, please message or email.
Accepted insurances: Aetna, UHC/Optum, BCBS TN, BCBS TX, Anthem KY, Cigna, Magellan, and Tricare East.
Expectations for Therapy
You can expect to put the work in with sessions from me. I use a teaching/processing/collaborating model. I integrate all three so that you can receive the best results possible. You can expect truth, honesty, integrity, professional transparency, humor, seriousness, respect, and to be challenged. Most of all, I have a "no walking on eggshells" policy, meaning that I will not walk on eggshells professionally around you, and you do not have to walk on eggshells around me. If you are walking on eggshells, you can expect you will challenge your ambivalence and learn compassionate assertiveness and honesty with me; I will not have it any other way. I do provide Christian-biblical counseling for those that request it and need it.
If you expect something different, you must be willing to walk or run towards change AND embrace the happiness, joy, pain, and frustration. Once the seed has been planted, most of the work will occur outside therapy. Whatever you learn or experience in the session must be applied daily. This includes homework that the Therapist and the Client have collaborated on and negotiated. You must do the work!
Video/Virtual Therapy
For clients that engage in video/virtual therapy, the following policy applies for privacy concerns and is non-negotiable:
- Your camera must be on at all times.
- Your setting/location must be private and secure behind a closed door.
- Therapy will not be conducted in a public place.
- Therapy cannot occur if you are driving in a vehicle or riding in a vehicle.
- There are no unexpected guests that can attend therapy.
- It is highly recommended that you use a laptop, desktop, or tablet for virtual therapy.
- Recording the session is prohibited unless it is required based on the specific therapy method.
